When the Answer You’ve Been Waiting For Comes Through Someone You Love
Good morning, my friend.
Pour yourself a cup of coffee and let me tell you a little story.
If you’ve watched more than a few of my videos, you may have noticed something… I don’t always look the same.
My channel banner and many of my thumbnails use a picture of me from nearly twenty years ago. That’s me at what I would call my healthiest season.
Then you’ll see my newer videos… And you’ll meet the current version of me.
Now here’s something else you’ll notice over the next several months. I’m going to start changing again.
Not because of lighting.
Not because of a new camera.
Not because of clever editing.
Because, Lord willing, by the end of this year I’ll be about thirty pounds lighters.
I wanted to tell you before you started wondering.
About a year ago I found myself saying something to the Lord that probably sounds familiar to many of us.
“How did I get here?”
Life happened. Long workdays. Stress. Comfort food. Good intentions.
Tomorrow became next Monday… which became next month… which somehow became years.
I wasn’t just carrying extra weight. I was carrying frustration.
Every morning I would ask the Lord for help. Not for another diet. Not for more willpower.
Just… help.
Then God answered my prayer in a way I wasn’t expecting.
One afternoon I was having dinner with my dear friend Jess. If you’ve ever met someone who makes healthy living seem joyful instead of miserable, that’s Jess.
Somewhere between salads and conversation she looked across the table and said:
“Why don’t we become accountability partners?”
Simple. Nothing fancy. No expensive program. No impossible rules.
Just two friends refusing to quit on each other.
I immediately knew…
This felt like an answer to prayer.
Then life got busy. Weeks passed. The idea quietly drifted into the background. Until one morning…
Like most mornings, I had sent my daily devotional to family and friends. A little while later my phone buzzed.
It was Jess.
“So… are we doing this?”
I smiled.
“YES! I’m still in.”
And that’s when everything really began.
Our plan couldn’t have been simpler.
Every workout…
Every healthy meal…
We send each other a picture.
That’s it.
No guilt. No lectures. Just quiet accountability.
And honestly? It’s working.
Not just because I’m losing weight… but because every picture reminds me someone is cheering me on.
Sometimes God answers our prayers with miracles.
Sometimes… He answers them with people.
✝️ What God Has Been Teaching Me
“Two are better than one… If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.” – Ecclesiastes 4:9
I’ve read that verse for years.
This year I’m living it.
God designed us to need one another. Not because we’re weak… but because we’re family.
Sometimes the breakthrough you’ve been praying for isn’t another burst of motivation.
Sometimes it’s one faithful person walking beside you.
♥️ A Little Encouragement for Your Week
Is there one area of your life where you’ve been trying to do everything alone?
Maybe it’s your walk with God.
Maybe your marriage.
Maybe your health.
Maybe simply staying faithful in a difficult season.
Ask the Lord if there’s someone He wants to place beside you.
His answers don’t always come wrapped the way we expect.
Sometimes… They arrive as a text message from a friend.
