____________
Can I tell YOU something personal?
For almost ten years, I thought God was taking me in a hundred different directions.
I was writing books…
typing the Bible…
studying prophecy…
building timelines…
and honestly…
I couldn’t always see how it all fit together.
Then one day…
the Lord began connecting the pieces.
Everything He had been teaching me for the last decade wasn’t separate at all.
It was one pathway.
One journey.
Preparing God’s people to know His Word…
live with confidence…
and be ready for Jesus.
I’m Lori Ann Moeszinger, and this is Guardians of Biblical Truth, where we teach Scripture first, no fear, no hype—and practical next steps you can live today.
So if YOU want to know what the Bible really says…
keep watching.
____________
Today we’re focusing on how the promise of Christ’s return changes the way we live. If you’d like to study the prophetic timeline in detail, we do that together in The Vanishing series.
____________
Real quick…
before we answer today’s question…
let me show YOU where this journey is taking us.
This is Episode 2 of our four-part series designed to replace fear with biblical confidence.
Last time…
we discovered what the Bible really means by the Blessed Hope…
and why God gave it to encourage His Church.
Today…
we’re opening one of the most discussed passages in all of prophecy:
What did Jesus really mean by “One Taken, One Left”?
Together we’ll let Scripture explain Scripture…
instead of speculation.
In Episode 3…
we’ll discover what it truly means to be Rapture Ready—
not through fear…
but through faithful daily obedience.
And in Episode 4…
we’ll step back and ask the bigger question:
Why does the Bible teach the Rapture at all?
We’ll discover that throughout Scripture…
God’s heart is always rescue before judgment.
Every episode builds on the one before it.
One biblical truth…
leading naturally to the next.
By the end of this first module…
you’ll not only understand what Jesus taught…
you’ll know how to read prophecy with confidence…
and live every day with hope instead of fear.
Now…
let’s answer today’s question.
____________
STEP 1 – Why Does “One Taken, One Left” Create So Much Fear?
Can I ask YOU something?
Have you ever read Jesus’ words…
“One shall be taken, and the other left.”
…and felt your stomach tighten?
Maybe you wondered…
“What if I’m the one left behind?”
Or maybe you’ve watched a movie…
heard a sermon…
or listened to someone’s interpretation…
and instead of feeling hopeful…
you walked away afraid.
And honestly…
I think that’s where many sincere Christians begin.
Not because they don’t love Jesus…
but because they’ve inherited fear before they’ve studied the Scriptures.
So before we ask what Jesus meant…
let’s first ask another question.
Why do these verses create so much fear in the first place?
The answer may surprise you.
Because fear grows wherever Scripture is replaced by assumption.
Let’s begin with something Paul wrote to Timothy.
2 Timothy 1:7 – “For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
Notice what Paul does NOT say.
He doesn’t say believers will never face difficult passages.
He doesn’t say prophecy is always easy to understand.
He says God has NOT given us a spirit of fear.
So if a teaching consistently produces panic…
that’s our invitation to slow down…
open our Bible…
and ask,
“Did Jesus really say that?”
Now listen to how Jesus describes His own purpose.
John 8:31–32 – “Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on Him, If you continue in My Word, then are you My disciples indeed; And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
Did you notice that?
Truth produces freedom.
Not confusion.
Not endless anxiety.
Freedom.
That doesn’t mean every passage is simple.
It means Jesus never intended His Word to trap sincere believers in constant fear.
He invites us to continue…
to study…
to keep reading…
until Scripture explains Scripture.
And that’s exactly what we’re going to do today.
Now here’s something else that’s important.
Many people read a difficult verse…
then immediately build an entire theology around that one verse.
But that’s not how the Bible teaches us to study.
Peter gives us an important reminder.
2 Peter 1:20–21 – “Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.”
In other words…
God didn’t scatter random puzzle pieces throughout the Bible.
He told one unified story.
That means when we come to a difficult prophecy…
we don’t begin with opinions.
We begin with Scripture.
Then we compare passage…
with passage…
with passage…
until the Bible begins interpreting itself.
And honestly…
that’s one of the biggest reasons people become frightened.
They’ve heard one verse…
without hearing the rest of God’s Word.
Can I encourage YOU with something?
If you’ve ever been afraid after reading “One Taken, One Left”…
that doesn’t mean your faith is weak.
It probably means no one ever showed you how to study the passage in context.
And that’s what we’re going to do together.
We’re going to slow down.
Open our Bibles.
Read what Jesus actually said.
Compare it with the rest of Scripture.
And let God’s Word—not fear—be our teacher.
Because the goal of Bible prophecy isn’t confusion.
It’s confidence.
The goal isn’t speculation.
It’s preparation.
And that’s today’s first win.
Before we even answer the passage…
we’ve already learned something important.
Fear is never our starting place.
Scripture is.
____________
Can I tell YOU something I’ve noticed?
The words “One Taken, One Left” don’t usually create fear because people have studied the passage.
They create fear because people have heard someone else’s interpretation of the passage.
And there’s a difference.
I’ve learned that almost everyone who arrives at Guardians of Biblical Truth carries a story with them.
Maybe YOU do too.
Maybe YOU’RE the ANXIOUS WATCHER.
You love Jesus.
You really do.
But every prophecy video leaves you wondering…
“What if I missed something?”
“What if I’m not ready?”
“What if everyone else understands this… except me?”
Friend…
I’m so glad you’re here.
Because Jesus never intended His words to become a source of constant panic.
He gave them to prepare His people…
not to paralyze them.
Then there’s the PROPHECY BURNOUT VIEWER.
You’ve heard hundreds of predictions.
New timelines.
New theories.
New headlines.
After a while…
you don’t know what to believe anymore.
And honestly…
you’re tired.
Not tired of Jesus.
Tired of the noise.
That’s why this channel always comes back to one question:
“What does Scripture actually say?”
Because God’s Word is steady…
even when opinions change.
And maybe…
YOU’RE the SILENT WATCHER.
You never comment.
You rarely ask questions.
But every week…
you’re listening.
Learning.
Taking notes.
Quietly asking God to help you understand His Word.
I want YOU to know…
I see you.
More importantly…
God sees you.
He honors the believer who patiently opens the Scriptures…
one passage at a time…
one truth at a time.
Because that’s how confidence grows.
Not through fear.
Through faithfulness.
And honestly…
all three of those people have something in common.
They don’t need another sensational prediction.
They need someone to open the Bible…
read it carefully…
and let Jesus speak for Himself.
That’s what we’re doing today.
And I think you’ll discover something beautiful.
Sometimes the greatest victory isn’t finding a new interpretation.
It’s finally replacing fear…
with the confidence that comes from understanding God’s Word.
one faithful step at a time.
____________
Now that we’ve uncovered why this passage creates so much fear…
let’s do what every Bible student should do next.
Let’s open the passage itself…
and let Jesus define His own words.
What did He really mean by “One Taken, One Left”?
____________
STEP 2 – What Did Jesus Really Mean by “One Taken, one Left”?
So let’s answer the question.
What did Jesus really mean when He said,
“One shall be taken, and the other left?”
Can I encourage YOU before we read the passage?
Most people approach these verses with an answer already in mind.
Today…
let’s do something different.
Let’s simply let Jesus speak.
Turn with me to Matthew 24.
Jesus is describing the days leading up to His return.
Listen carefully to His words.
Matthew 24:37–39 – “But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be.”
Let’s stop there.
Before Jesus ever mentions “one taken and one left”…
He gives us a picture.
The days of Noah.
Now here’s the question.
Who was taken in Noah’s day?
Think about it.
Was Noah taken?
No.
Noah remained on the earth.
He entered the ark.
The flood came…
and the flood took the wicked away.
Jesus says,
“The flood came, and took them all away.”
Those are His words.
Now keep reading.
Matthew 24:40–41 – “Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.”
Can I ask YOU something?
If Jesus has just compared this event to Noah…
wouldn’t we first ask whether the comparison continues?
That’s good Bible study.
Context comes before conclusions.
Now let’s let another passage help us.
Luke records the same teaching.
Luke 17:34–37 – “I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. And they answered and said unto Him, Where, Lord? And He said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, there will the eagles be gathered together.”
Now that’s interesting.
The disciples immediately ask,
“Where, Lord?”
In other words…
“Taken where?”
And Jesus doesn’t answer,
“To heaven.”
He points to a scene of judgment.
That’s why we don’t want to build an entire doctrine from two verses alone.
We have to read every passage…
every comparison…
every question…
every answer.
And honestly…
this is where many Bible teachers stop too soon.
They read the phrase…
“One taken…”
…and immediately attach a meaning to it.
But Scripture invites us to slow down.
Compare.
Study.
Ask questions.
Because that’s how truth grows.
Now, before anyone worries…
I’m not asking YOU to abandon everything you’ve ever heard.
I’m asking YOU to do something even better.
Open your Bible.
Read the entire conversation.
Notice the context.
Ask,
“What is Jesus emphasizing?”
“Who is He comparing this to?”
“How would His original audience have understood these words?”
Those questions change everything.
And here’s today’s second win.
Instead of asking,
“What have I always heard?”
learn to ask,
“What does the passage actually say?”
Friend…
that one habit will protect YOU from more confusion than almost anything else in Bible study.
Because God’s Word doesn’t contradict itself.
It explains itself.
And that’s exactly what we’re going to keep doing.
Because this isn’t the only place Jesus teaches this pattern.
In fact…
He repeats it in several parables.
So before we draw our conclusions…
let’s compare Scripture with Scripture…
and discover where else Jesus teaches the very same principle.
____________
Can I make an observation?
Most Christians don’t become confused because the Bible is confusing.
They become confused because they’ve heard ten different people explain the same passage ten different ways.
And after a while…
they stop asking,
“What does Scripture say?”
…and start asking,
“Who’s right?”
Maybe you’ve been there.
That’s why I love opening the Bible together.
Not to win an argument…
but to let Jesus speak for Himself.
Maybe YOU’RE THE QUESTIONER.
You aren’t trying to be difficult.
You genuinely want to understand.
You’ve asked,
“Where does the Bible actually say that?”
“Am I missing something?”
“How do I know which interpretation is biblical?”
Friend…
never apologize for asking honest questions.
God isn’t intimidated by them.
The Bereans were commended because they searched the Scriptures daily to see whether what they heard was true.
That’s not doubt.
That’s discipleship.
Then there’s THE DEBATE WATCHER.
You’ve watched countless prophecy discussions.
One teacher says one thing.
Another says the opposite.
Everyone sounds confident.
And honestly…
it’s exhausting.
Somewhere along the way…
the debate became louder than the Bible itself.
Maybe today…
God is inviting YOU to step away from the noise…
and back into His Word.
Because Scripture doesn’t need us to defend our opinions.
It asks us to humbly understand His.
And maybe YOU’RE THE SKEPTICAL OBSERVER.
You haven’t rejected Jesus.
You’ve become skeptical of everything surrounding prophecy.
Too many predictions.
Too many sensational headlines.
Too many confident voices that later had to change their minds.
So you’ve quietly wondered,
“Can anyone really understand this?”
The answer is yes.
Not because someone has all the answers…
but because God’s Word is consistent.
We don’t have to force Scripture to fit our ideas.
We simply allow Scripture to explain Scripture.
And honestly…
all three of these people are looking for the same thing.
Not another theory.
Not another debate.
Not another headline.
They want confidence.
And confidence doesn’t come from following the loudest voice.
It comes from opening God’s Word…
reading the passage in context…
and trusting that the Author of Scripture knows how to explain His own story.
That’s the habit we’re building together.
One passage…
one context…
one faithful step at a time.
____________
Now that we’ve looked carefully at Jesus’ own words…
let’s ask another important question.
Does He teach this same pattern anywhere else?
Because when Scripture repeats itself…
our confidence grows.
Let’s compare passage with passage… and let the Bible continue interpreting itself.
____________
STEP 3 – Where Else Does Jesus Teach This Pattern?
Can I tell YOU one of the most important principles I’ve learned in studying the Bible?
Jesus rarely teaches something only once.
He teaches a truth…
then repeats it…
from another angle…
with another story…
until the pattern begins to emerge.
That’s why we don’t want to build our understanding of “One Taken, One Left” from one passage alone.
We want to ask,
“Where else does Jesus teach us about readiness?”
Let’s begin in Matthew 13.
Jesus tells the Parable of the Sower.
At the end, He explains the good soil.
Matthew 13:23 – “But he that received seed into the good ground is he that hears the word, and understands it; which also bears fruit, and brings forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.”
Notice something beautiful.
Every one of these seeds grew.
Every one bore fruit.
But they did not all bear the same amount of fruit.
Jesus introduces a principle.
There is a difference between simply hearing His Word…
and the measure of fruitfulness that follows.
Now let’s keep reading Matthew’s Gospel.
Just one chapter after Jesus speaks about “One Taken, One Left,” He gives another familiar parable.
“Matthew 25:1–2 KJV
Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the Bridegroom. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.”
Can I ask YOU something?
What separated the wise from the foolish?
It wasn’t that one group knew the bridegroom existed…
and the other didn’t.
The difference was readiness.
One group prepared for His coming.
The other assumed there would always be more time.
Jesus is teaching watchfulness.
Now, in that same chapter, He immediately tells another parable.
Matthew 25:20–21 – “And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, lord, you delivered unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more. His lord said unto him, Well done, you good and faithful servant: you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things: enter you into the joy of your lord.”
Again…
Jesus emphasizes faithfulness.
Not simply knowledge.
Not simply expectation.
Faithfulness.
Then He tells a very similar story in Luke.
Luke 19:16–17 – “Then came the first, saying, Lord, your pound has gained ten pounds. And he said unto him, Well, you good servant: because you have been faithful in a very little, have you authority over ten cities.”
Do you see the pattern?
Fruitfulness.
Readiness.
Faithfulness.
Jesus keeps returning to these same themes.
Different stories.
Same invitation.
And honestly…
I don’t think that’s accidental.
When Jesus repeats Himself, He is inviting us to slow down and pay attention.
He isn’t merely giving us information about the future.
He is shaping the hearts of His disciples in the present.
Now listen to His closing words in Matthew 24.
Matthew 24:42 – “Watch therefore: for you know not what hour your Lord does come.”
There’s the thread that ties these passages together.
Watch.
Be ready.
Be faithful.
Bear fruit.
These teachings don’t compete with one another.
They reinforce one another.
They reveal a consistent picture of discipleship while we wait for Christ’s return.
Here’s today’s third win.
Instead of building our understanding on one difficult verse…
we begin recognizing the larger biblical pattern.
Jesus repeatedly calls His followers to lives marked by fruitfulness, faithful stewardship, and watchful readiness.
And that’s why we compare Scripture with Scripture.
Because the more we see the whole picture…
the more clearly we understand each individual passage.
____________
Can I share something I’ve noticed over the years?
The people who grow the most in Scripture aren’t usually the ones searching for the newest prophecy theory.
They’re the ones who begin seeing how the whole Bible fits together.
That’s when confidence starts replacing confusion.
Maybe that’s where you are today.
Maybe YOU’RE THE HUNGRY DISCIPLE.
You don’t want isolated verses.
You want the whole counsel of God.
You read one passage…
and immediately ask,
“Where else does the Bible talk about this?”
Friend…
keep asking those questions.
That’s how mature disciples grow.
The Bible becomes richer when you discover that Jesus isn’t introducing a new idea every chapter.
He’s patiently repeating eternal truths until they become part of your life.
Then there’s THE ISOLATED REMNANT BELIEVER.
Sometimes you’ve wondered if anyone else studies the Bible this way anymore.
Everyone seems to be chasing the newest headline…
while you’re quietly comparing Scripture with Scripture.
Can I encourage you?
Don’t underestimate slow, faithful study.
God has always formed His people through His Word.
One chapter.
One passage.
One faithful day at a time.
That’s not falling behind.
That’s growing deep roots.
And maybe you’re THE SEEKER.
You’ve come with honest questions.
You’re not looking for someone to tell you what to think.
You simply want to know,
“What did Jesus actually teach?”
That’s one of the healthiest places to begin.
Because real confidence isn’t built on following a teacher.
It’s built on following Christ.
The more you read His words in context…
the more His voice becomes familiar.
And honestly…
all three of these people are discovering the same beautiful truth.
The Bible doesn’t ask us to chase isolated verses.
It invites us to follow one unfolding story.
When Matthew helps explain Luke…
when one parable sheds light on another…
when Jesus keeps repeating the same themes of fruitfulness…
faithfulness…
and readiness…
our confidence begins to grow.
Not because we’ve mastered prophecy…
but because we’re learning to trust the Author.
And that’s today’s proof.
The more Scripture interprets Scripture…
the less room fear has to grow.
____________
Now that we’ve seen the pattern Jesus repeats throughout His teaching…
let’s make it personal.
What does biblical readiness actually look like?
Because Jesus didn’t call us to simply understand prophecy…
He called us to faithfully live it every day.
____________
STORY OF AWAKENING
Can I tell YOU about someone?
In the heart of a bustling city lived Barry, a 35-year-old community organizer known for his tireless advocacy and compassionate heart. His worn-out sneakers and the coffee stains on his shirt were testaments to the countless hours he spent walking the streets, listening to the voices of the marginalized. Barry’s problem wasn’t a lack of passion or purpose—it was the overwhelming feeling of fighting a losing battle against an unseen dragon of societal indifference.
The dragon’s fiery breath was the burnout that haunted his dreams, the cynicism creeping into his once-hopeful vision. Each night, as he laid his head on a pillow damp with the day’s sweat, Barry wrestled with the fear that perhaps he was just one man against an invincible force.
The moment of change arrived unannounced on a Sunday morning, with the sunlight piercing through the stained-glass windows of a small neighborhood church. As the preacher spoke of a man who, empowered by the Holy Spirit, turned the world upside down with love and miracles, something within Barry shifted. The story wasn’t new to him, but in that moment, the Holy Spirit ceased to be an abstract concept. It became his revelation—the sword in his hand, not just a relic from a biblical time but a present and powerful force that could animate his weary bones.
It was the specificity of Jesus’ life that resonated with Barry—the dusty roads, the touch of healing, the voice that spoke with authority not from titles but from an authentic place of service and sacrifice. The narrative of the Anointed One, carrying the Spirit within, transformed the course of history with acts that defied human limitations.
Barry left the church with a different kind of stride, one that carried a newfound resonance. He understood now that his fight was not in vain and that the same Spirit that raised the dead, healed the sick, and empowered the outcast to speak was in him. His work wasn’t just a career; it was a calling, a participation in a divine narrative that promised that the same Spirit that worked through the Anointed Messiah was at work in him—turning small acts of kindness into ripples that could break down walls and heal divisions.
The community noticed a change in Barry. There was a steadiness in his voice, a light in his eyes. They whispered among themselves, “What happened to him?” And in their hearts, a hope kindled—that perhaps the dragon wasn’t so invincible after all.
____________
Maybe today’s Story of Awakening wasn’t actually for YOU.
Maybe…
it was for someone God quietly placed on YOUR heart.
The friend…
who’s afraid every time someone talks about the end times.
The believer…
who loves Jesus…
but has quietly started avoiding Bible prophecy…
because every conversation seems to create more fear than hope.
The family member…
who’s convinced they’ll never understand Revelation…
so they’ve simply stopped trying.
The new Christian…
who doesn’t know what to believe anymore…
because every teacher seems to say something different.
Did someone come to mind?
Because if they did…
maybe today’s conversation wasn’t only meant to strengthen YOUR faith.
Maybe God wants to use YOU to strengthen theirs.
If someone came to mind while hearing Barry’s story…
send them this video.
You never know how God might use…
one conversation…
one Scripture…
or one quiet invitation…
to replace confusion with confidence.
Because that’s what Jesus does.
He doesn’t leave His people in fear.
He calls us to truth.
He anchors us in His Word.
And He fills us with hope that cannot be shaken.
So perhaps your decision to share this today…
will become part of someone else’s…
Story of Awakening.
____________
STEP 4 – How Does the Bible Define Readiness?
Can I ask YOU something?
When you hear the word “ready,” what comes to mind?
For some people…
it means watching the news.
For others…
it means studying prophecy charts.
But is that how Jesus defined readiness?
Let’s let Him answer.
Near the end of the Olivet Discourse, Jesus doesn’t end with a timeline.
He ends with a servant.
Matthew 24:45–47 – “Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord has made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he comes shall find so doing. Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.”
Did you notice what Jesus is looking for?
Not someone predicting dates.
Not someone winning arguments.
A servant who is faithfully doing what his Master asked him to do when the Master returns.
That’s readiness.
Not merely believing Jesus is coming…
but living every day as though His return matters.
Now listen to another parable.
Matthew 25:13 – “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of Man comes.”
Again, Jesus brings us back to watchfulness.
But biblical watchfulness isn’t passive.
It isn’t standing still with your eyes fixed on the horizon.
It is a heart that remains spiritually awake…
walking closely with Christ…
expecting His return…
while faithfully serving Him today.
Now listen to Peter.
2 Peter 3:11–12 – “Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God…”
Peter asks one of the most important questions in all of prophecy.
Not,
“What chart do you follow?”
But,
“What manner of persons ought ye to be?”
That’s the question prophecy is designed to awaken.
Who are YOU becoming?
Are you growing in holiness?
In obedience?
In love?
Because that’s how the New Testament consistently defines readiness.
Now listen to Paul.
Titus 2:11–13 – “For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ.”
Do you see how beautifully this connects to everything we’ve studied?
Grace saves us.
Grace teaches us.
Then grace leads us to live differently while we wait for Christ.
Readiness is not panic.
Readiness is a transformed life.
And honestly…
I think that’s one of the biggest misunderstandings in modern prophecy teaching.
We’ve sometimes measured readiness by how much someone knows about future events.
Jesus measures readiness by faithfulness.
By obedience.
By perseverance.
By a life that continues following Him when no one is watching.
Finally, listen to Jesus one more time.
Luke 12:35–37 – “Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning; And you yourselves like unto men that wait for their Lord, when He will return from the wedding; that when He comes and knocks, they may open unto Him immediately. Blessed are those servants, whom the Lord when He comes shall find watching…”
Can I tell YOU what I love about that picture?
Those servants weren’t frozen in fear.
They were faithfully carrying out their responsibilities…
ready to welcome their Master at any moment.
That’s biblical readiness.
Not living with anxious hearts…
but with faithful hearts.
Here’s today’s fourth win.
The Bible defines readiness as a life that is faithfully following Jesus while joyfully expecting His return.
It is a heart that stays awake to God’s voice…
a life that bears fruit…
a servant who remains faithful…
and a believer who lives every ordinary day in light of an extraordinary promise.
Because when Jesus returns…
I don’t think He’s looking first for experts in prophecy.
I think He’s looking for faithful disciples.
And that’s the kind of readiness every one of us can pursue today.
____________
Can I tell YOU something I’ve learned?
When Jesus talks about readiness…
He rarely describes dramatic moments.
He describes ordinary faithfulness.
And honestly…
I think that’s incredibly freeing.
Because most of us don’t live on mountaintops.
We live ordinary Tuesdays.
Maybe that’s exactly where Jesus wants to meet us.
Maybe YOU’RE THE EXHAUSTED BELIEVER.
You’re trying to follow Jesus…
while balancing work…
family…
responsibilities…
and a thousand interruptions.
Sometimes you quietly wonder,
“Is this what readiness looks like?”
Friend…
it absolutely can.
Every prayer.
Every act of obedience.
Every quiet decision to forgive.
Every morning you choose Christ again.
Jesus sees it all.
Faithfulness isn’t measured by how spectacular your life looks.
It’s measured by Who you’re faithfully following.
Then there’s THE LUKEWARM CHRISTIAN WAKING UP.
Maybe you’ve realized your heart drifted.
Not overnight.
Just little by little.
And now God is stirring something inside you.
If that’s where you are…
don’t stay trapped in yesterday’s regrets.
Readiness always begins with today’s surrender.
The moment you turn back toward Christ…
His grace meets you there.
That’s the beauty of the Gospel.
Jesus calls people forward.
Not backward.
And maybe YOU’RE THE ENCOURAGER.
You have a quiet ministry.
You remind people of God’s promises.
You calm anxious hearts.
You point fearful believers back to Scripture.
Never underestimate that calling.
When you encourage someone to keep trusting Jesus…
you’re helping them live ready.
Sometimes readiness looks like lifting someone else’s eyes back to Christ.
And honestly…
all three of these people are living the same lesson.
Readiness isn’t measured by how much fear you carry.
It’s measured by how faithfully you walk with Jesus.
One obedient choice.
One faithful prayer.
One act of love.
One surrendered day at a time.
That’s the kind of life Jesus describes throughout His parables.
Not perfection.
Faithfulness.
And I think that’s wonderful news.
Because every believer can begin living that way…
today.
____________
Now we know what biblical readiness looks like.
So let’s finish with the question every one of us should ask.
How should this truth change the way I live today?
Because understanding prophecy is only the beginning.
Jesus calls us to live ready every single day.
____________
STEP 5 – How Should I Live If Jesus Calls Me to Be Ready?
We’ve asked why this passage creates so much fear.
We’ve listened carefully to Jesus’ words.
We’ve compared Scripture with Scripture.
We’ve discovered that Jesus repeatedly calls His followers to lives of fruitfulness, faithfulness, and readiness.
But honestly…
none of that matters if it never changes the way we live.
So here’s the question that really matters.
How should I live if Jesus calls me to be ready?
Let’s begin with Jesus’ own words.
Luke 12:35–36 – “Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning; And you yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he comes and knocks, they may open unto him immediately.”
I love this picture.
Jesus doesn’t describe frightened servants.
He describes prepared servants.
Their lamps are burning.
They’re alert.
They’re expecting their Master.
But they’re also faithfully carrying on with the work He entrusted to them.
That’s biblical readiness.
It’s not sitting on the sidelines waiting for heaven.
It’s faithfully serving the King until He comes.
Now listen to what Paul tells the Colossian believers.
Colossians 3:1–2 – “If you then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sits on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.”
Notice Paul doesn’t tell us to ignore life here on earth.
He tells us to live with an eternal perspective.
Our priorities begin to change.
We love differently.
We forgive more quickly.
We become more generous.
More compassionate.
More willing to obey God, even when no one is watching.
Because we’re living for something greater than this present world.
Now hear Peter’s encouragement.
1 Peter 1:13–15 – “Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: But as He which has called you is holy, so be you holy in all manner of conversation.”
Peter connects hope with holiness.
Not fear.
Hope.
The expectation of Christ’s return should shape the way we think…
the way we speak…
and the way we live.
Not because we’re trying to earn His approval.
But because we already belong to Him.
Finally, listen again to the words of Paul that have become a thread throughout this study.
Do you see how everything comes together?
Grace saves us.
Grace teaches us.
Grace prepares us.
And while we wait…
we live differently.
Not because we’re afraid of being left behind.
But because we love the One who promised He is coming again.
And honestly…
I think that’s the greatest transformation this passage can produce.
Instead of waking up every morning asking,
“What headline should I watch today?”
we begin asking,
“Lord, how can I faithfully follow You today?”
That’s readiness.
Opening your Bible.
Spending time in prayer.
Serving your family.
Sharing the Gospel.
Encouraging another believer.
Choosing obedience when no one else sees.
Living every ordinary day with extraordinary hope.
Here’s today’s fifth win.
Jesus isn’t calling us to become experts in prophecy.
He’s calling us to become faithful disciples.
When Scripture defines readiness, it isn’t measured by how many prophetic mysteries we’ve solved.
It’s measured by hearts that remain devoted to Christ…
lives that bear lasting fruit…
and servants who are joyfully found doing the Master’s work when He returns.
Because one day…
our faith will become sight.
And when that day comes…
may Jesus find us doing exactly what He asked us to do—
loving Him,
loving others,
and faithfully living ready until He comes.
____________
Can I leave YOU with one final observation?
The people who are most ready for Christ’s return…
aren’t usually the ones talking about it the most.
They’re often the ones quietly living for Him every single day.
Maybe that’s where YOU are.
Maybe YOU’RE THE RETURNING BELIEVER.
Life took you places you never planned.
Your walk with God became distant.
But today…
something inside your heart is waking up again.
Friend…
don’t let yesterday define tomorrow.
Jesus isn’t calling you to become an expert overnight.
He’s simply inviting you to take the next faithful step.
Readiness begins the moment we turn our hearts back toward Him.
Maybe YOU’RE THE SEEKER.
You’ve come with honest questions.
You’re not looking for sensational predictions.
You simply want to know,
“What does Jesus actually teach?”
Keep seeking Him.
Because every time you open God’s Word with a humble heart…
you’re growing in the very readiness Jesus desires.
The goal isn’t collecting more information.
It’s growing in a deeper relationship with Christ.
Then there’s THE HUNGRY DISCIPLE.
You love digging into Scripture.
You compare passage with passage.
You want your beliefs to be shaped by God’s Word—not by trends or personalities.
Never lose that hunger.
But remember…
knowledge is meant to produce transformation.
The greatest Bible student isn’t simply the one who knows the most.
It’s the one whose life looks more like Jesus because of what they’ve learned.
And honestly…
I think all three of these people are discovering the same beautiful truth.
Jesus never called us to spend our lives trying to predict the future.
He called us to faithfully follow Him today.
That’s what readiness looks like.
Walking with Christ.
Trusting His promises.
Bearing fruit.
Serving others.
Opening His Word.
Living every ordinary day in light of an extraordinary Savior.
Because one day…
the One we’ve been waiting for…
will become the One we finally see face to face.
And I can’t think of a better way to live until that day comes.
I want to leave YOU with one simple tool that will help you study every end-times passage with greater confidence.
It’s time for Today’s Toolkit—
Three Questions to Ask Every End-Times Passage.
____________
TODAY’S TOOLKIT – Three Questions to Ask Every End-Time Passage
Before we finish…
I want to leave YOU with Today’s Toolkit.
And honestly…
I wish someone had taught me these three questions years ago.
They’ve completely changed the way I study Bible prophecy.
Whenever you come to a difficult end-times passage…
don’t start with a headline.
Don’t start with someone’s opinion.
Start with these three questions.
Question One
What does the immediate context say?
Read the verses before it.
Read the verses after it.
Ask,
“Who is speaking?”
“Who are they speaking to?”
“What is the main point of the conversation?”
Never build a doctrine from one isolated verse.
Question Two
Where else does Scripture teach this pattern?
The Bible is one unified story.
Compare passage with passage.
Compare parable with parable.
Let Jesus explain Jesus.
The more Scripture interprets Scripture…
the clearer the picture becomes.
Question Three
How should this change the way I live today?
That’s the question Jesus always asks.
Not,
“Did you solve every prophetic mystery?”
But,
“Did My Word change your life?”
If your study leads you closer to Christ…
more faithful…
more loving…
more obedient…
you’re studying prophecy the way Jesus intended.
So here’s today’s entire lesson in one sentence.
Read the context.
Compare the Scriptures.
Live the truth.
That’s how confusion becomes confidence.
That’s how fear becomes readiness.
And that’s how Scripture transforms our lives.
Before we move on…
I’d like to leave you with one thought.
Remember this…
Every end-times passage should answer three questions: What does it say? Where else does God teach it? How should it change the way I live today?
____________
Before we wrap…
If today’s message strengthened YOUR confidence in Christ…
comment “READY.”
I read those comments every week,
and I love seeing believers encourage one another.
And before YOU leave…
tell me one step YOU’RE going to take this week.
Maybe it’s opening your Bible tomorrow morning.
Maybe it’s talking with Jesus for the first time in a long time.
Maybe it’s sharing the Gospel with someone.
Or maybe it’s simply choosing obedience in one area of YOUR life.
Because here at Guardians of Biblical Truth…
we believe Scripture becomes transformation one step at a time.
____________
WRAP UP – From Hype to Readiness
And honestly…
I hope today’s study has done something more than answer one difficult passage.
I hope it’s shown you how to study God’s Word with greater confidence.
Because that’s what Jesus wants for every one of us.
Not fearful followers…
but faithful disciples.
Today we discovered that understanding “One Taken, One Left” begins by slowing down…
reading the passage in context…
and allowing Scripture to interpret Scripture.
That’s how confusion gives way to clarity.
And here’s what I love most.
The Bible doesn’t ask us to build our lives on opinions…
or personalities…
or the latest headline.
It invites us to build our lives on the unchanging truth of God’s Word.
The more we know Jesus…
the more we recognize His voice.
The more we recognize His voice…
the less we’re shaken by every new theory that comes along.
That’s real readiness.
Not having every prophetic question answered…
but learning to trust the Author of Scripture more each day.
And that’s why, here at Guardians of Biblical Truth, we always come back to the same foundation:
Scripture first.
No hype.
No fear.
Calm prophetic clarity.
Because when God’s Word becomes your foundation…
confidence naturally replaces confusion.
____________
WHERE WE GO NEXT
Now let me show YOU where we’re headed next.
This wheel is our journey…
through Rapture Explained…
one question at a time…
one passage at a time…
one deeper understanding of God’s Word at a time.
Today we completed our second spoke:
One Taken, One Left.
Together we discovered that Jesus never intended these verses to produce fear…
but to call His followers to faithful readiness.
We learned to read Scripture in context…
to compare Scripture with Scripture…
and to let Jesus explain His own words.
Next time…
we’ll ask a deeply personal question:
“Am I really ready for Christ’s return?”
Not by measuring fear…
or emotion…
or how much prophecy we know…
but by discovering what biblical readiness actually looks like.
We’ll open the Scriptures together…
and learn why readiness isn’t about living in panic…
it’s about walking faithfully with Jesus every single day.
Because every spoke builds on the one before it.
One passage.
One truth.
One month.
One faithful step toward calm prophetic clarity.
Because one video may answer a question…
but a lifetime of readiness…
is built by walking with Christ…
day after day…
until the day we finally see Him face to face.
And together…
that’s exactly where we’re headed next.

Step is where faith becomes the way YOU actually live.
Because every checkpoint moves YOU from awareness to obedience, from belief to readiness, from saying “Amen” to living “Here I am, Lord.”
And that’s the journey we’re taking together.
One Scripture.
One Story.

PRAYER OF FAITH
Before we go… if you don’t know Jesus,
or if you’ve drifted far from Him
and you want to come home…
pray this with me.
Put your hands together and repeat after me:
John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
If you believe that, He is in your heart right now, and you shall be saved.
And if you want to receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, pray this prayer…
Father, in Jesus’ name,
Thank You for Your Word. Help us not just hear it – but obey it. Forgive us. Cleanse us. We repent, and we turn from sin back to You. Teach us to honor Your rhythms – Your Sabbath, Your appointed times, and Your ways – not man’s traditions. Order our homes, our time, and our priorities around You. Renew our minds, fill us with Your Spirit, and make us ready – without fear and without compromise. We give You our yes.
Amen.
