Hey friend…

Have you ever wondered,

“What’s the big story of the Bible?”

Maybe you’ve opened your Bible dozens of times…

and somewhere between Genesis and Revelation…

it started feeling like sixty-six separate books…

instead of one incredible story.

If that’s why you clicked this video…

you’re in the right place.

Today we’re going to discover the big story of the Bible…

how all sixty-six books fit together…

and why seeing that one story centered on Jesus Christ will change the way you read Scripture forever.

And once you see it… you’ll never read your Bible the same way again.

____________

66 Books of the Bible in 66 Minutes: What’s the Big Story of the Bible?

Let’s open our Bibles together.

Today we’re going to answer one important question by walking through five simple steps.

STEP 1 – Why Does the Bible Feel Like Sixty-Six Separate Books?

STEP 2 – What Story Is God Actually Telling?

STEP 3 – Why Is Jesus the Center of Every Book?

STEP 4 – How Do All Sixty-Six Books Fit Together?

STEP 5 – How Should the Big Story Change the Way I Read Scripture?

First, we’ll discover why so many sincere believers feel like the Bible is sixty-six separate books…
instead of one connected story.

Then we’ll answer one of the biggest questions in Bible study…

What story is God actually telling…
from Genesis to Revelation?

Next, we’ll discover why every page of Scripture…
every promise…
every prophecy…
and every covenant…
ultimately points to one Person.

and discover what every rescue story reveals about the Father’s heart.

Then I’ll show you something that’s completely changed the way I read my Bible.

We’ll walk through all sixty-six books together…
and you’ll see how they fit into one beautiful story.

And we’ll finish by discovering how seeing the Bible as one unified story…
changes the way you read it tomorrow morning…
not with confusion…
but with confidence…
because you’ll know where every passage belongs.

By the end of today’s journey…

you won’t just know more about the Bible…

you’ll understand the story God has been telling…

from the very beginning…

and why every page ultimately leads us to Jesus Christ.

____________

And stay with me until the end because I’ll give you Today’s Toolkit…

a simple one-page Bible Story Map you’ll come back to again and again…

so every time you open your Bible…

you’ll know exactly where you are in God’s story.

And if YOU’VE never trusted Jesus –

or you’re ready to come home to Him – we’ll pray together before YOU go.

____________

This is Guardians of Biblical Truth – your pathway to readiness for the return of Christ.

____________

Can I tell you something?

For years…

I loved God’s Word…

but if I’m honest…

I often read it like sixty-six separate books.

I’d finish one book…

start another…

and never quite see how they all fit together.

Then one day…

the Lord began showing me that from Genesis to Revelation…

the Bible isn’t sixty-six different stories.

It’s one story…

about one Savior…

Jesus Christ.

I’m Lori Ann Moeszinger, and this is Guardians of Biblical Truth, where we put Scripture first—no fear, no hype—and practical next steps you can live today.

So if you want to know what the Bible really says…

keep watching.

____________

Real quick…

before we answer today’s question…

let me show YOU where this journey is taking us.

This is Module 1 of our REFORMATION journey…

designed to help us stop reading the Bible as disconnected books…

and begin reading it as one beautiful story…

centered on Jesus Christ.

Today…

we’re asking the question that changes everything:

What’s the Big Story of the Bible?

Together…

we’ll begin discovering that all sixty-six books…

belong to one incredible story…

written by one Author.

Next time…

we’ll discover why reading the Bible chronologically…

changes everything.

Instead of jumping from story to story…

you’ll begin following God’s unfolding plan…

exactly as He revealed it.

Then…

we’ll answer a question nearly every Christian has heard:

“How did we get the Bible?”

We’ll discover why you can trust God’s Word…

how He preserved it through history…

and why Scripture remains trustworthy today.

And then…

we’ll step back…

and look at the entire Bible through one Christ-centered lens.

You’ll begin seeing Jesus…

not only in the Gospels…

but throughout all of Scripture.

Every episode builds on the one before it.

One story…

One Savior…

One step closer to understanding God’s Word.

By the end of this first module…

you won’t simply know your Bible better…

you’ll begin reading it the way it was designed to be read…

as one breathtaking story…

that has always pointed to Jesus.

Now…

let’s open the Scriptures together.

____________

STEP 1 – Why Does the Bible Feel Like Sixty-Six Separate Books?

Can I ask you something?

Have you ever finished reading your Bible for the day…

closed it…

and quietly thought,

“Lord… I know this is Your Word…

but I’m not sure how all of this fits together.”

If you’ve ever felt that…

you’re in very good company.

In fact, I think that’s exactly where many sincere Christians live.

They love Jesus.

They believe the Bible.

They genuinely want to know God.

But when they open Scripture…

it often feels like they’re stepping into sixty-six different worlds.

One day they’re reading about Noah.

The next day it’s sacrifices.

Then kings.

Then prophets.

Then Paul.

It’s easy to wonder,

“Am I missing something?”

Can I encourage you?

You’re not missing intelligence.

You’re missing the storyline.

And no one can enjoy a story they were never shown how to read.

Here’s what changed everything for me.

I stopped trying to understand sixty-six separate books…

and I started looking for one Author telling one story.

Listen to what Paul wrote.

2 Timothy 3:16–17 – “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”

Did you notice that little word?

All.

Not some.

Not the easy books.

Not just the New Testament.

All Scripture.

One Author.

One voice.

One heartbeat.

That means Genesis isn’t disconnected from Revelation.

Isaiah isn’t wandering off on his own.

Neither is Leviticus…

even if it sometimes feels that way.

Then Jesus gives us what I believe is one of the greatest Bible-study keys in all of Scripture.

After His resurrection, He met two discouraged disciples walking to Emmaus.

They knew their Bibles.

But they hadn’t yet recognized the One the Bible had been talking about all along.

Listen carefully.

Luke 24:27 – “And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, He expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning Himself.”

I absolutely love that verse.

Jesus could have begun anywhere.

Instead…

He began with Moses.

Genesis.

Exodus.

Leviticus.

Numbers.

Deuteronomy.

Then He walked through the Prophets.

Then the rest of the Scriptures.

And everywhere He went…

He showed them…

Himself.

A few verses later He says it even more plainly.

Luke 24:44 – “And he said unto them, These are the words which I spoke unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning Me.”

Did you hear that?

The Law.

The Prophets.

The Psalms.

In other words…

the whole Bible.

Everything was pointing to Jesus.

Now here’s something that has become foundational for me.

At Guardians of Biblical Truth…

we don’t read the Old Testament simply looking for great people.

We read it looking for the greatness of Christ.

Because Noah points beyond himself.

Abraham points beyond himself.

Joseph points beyond himself.

David points beyond himself.

Every prophet…

every sacrifice…

every king…

every covenant…

every promise…

is another thread woven into one magnificent tapestry…

until Jesus steps onto the pages of history.

And here’s what I find so beautiful.

The Old Testament isn’t the “old part” of God’s plan.

It’s where the Father begins telling the story.

The New Testament isn’t a different story.

It’s where the Son fulfills it…

and the Holy Spirit opens our eyes to understand it.

One God.

One story.

One redemption.

One Savior.

So here’s your first step today.

The next time you open your Bible…

before you ask,

“What does this chapter teach?”

pause for just a moment…

and ask something even better.

“Jesus… where are You in this story?”

I believe that one question can change the way you read Scripture for the rest of your life.

Because once you begin looking for Christ from Genesis to Revelation…

the Bible no longer feels like sixty-six separate books.

It becomes one breathtaking story…

written by one loving Author…

leading every page…

to one glorious King.

____________

Can I share something I’ve noticed over the years?

I’ve discovered that most Christians don’t struggle because they don’t love the Bible.

They struggle because no one ever showed them how the story fits together.

It’s a little like walking into a movie halfway through.

You recognize the characters.

You hear the conversations.

But because you missed the beginning…

you never quite understand how everything connects.

Maybe that’s where you are today.

Or maybe you’ll recognize yourself in one of these friends.

Maybe YOU’RE THE SEEKER.

You’ve wanted to read the Bible…

but honestly…

it’s felt intimidating.

You hear people quote verses from books you’ve never even found.

You wonder,

“Where do I even begin?”

Friend…

I’m so glad you’re here.

Because you don’t need to understand sixty-six books today.

You only need to begin discovering one incredible story.

Maybe YOU’RE THE EXHAUSTED BELIEVER.

You’ve started Bible-reading plans…

more times than you can count.

Genesis goes well.

Exodus is exciting.

Then somewhere along the way…

life gets busy…

Leviticus arrives…

and quietly…

you stop reading.

Not because you stopped loving Jesus.

Because you lost the story.

Can I encourage you?

Maybe the problem was never your desire.

Maybe no one ever handed you the map.

And maybe…

YOU’RE THE SILENT WATCHER.

You’ve been here for a while.

You listen.

You learn.

You rarely say anything.

But something keeps bringing you back.

Can I tell you what I hope happens during this REFORMATION journey?

Not that you’ll simply know more facts.

But that you’ll begin opening your Bible with confidence…

because you finally understand where every page belongs in God’s great story.

Friend…

did you notice what all three of these people were really searching for?

Not more information.

Not another reading plan.

Not another checklist.

They were searching for clarity.

And that’s exactly what God’s Word offers when we begin reading it the way it was written…

as one story…

from one Author…

revealing one Savior…

Jesus Christ.

____________

Now that we’ve discovered why the Bible can feel like sixty-six separate books…

the next question naturally becomes…

If it’s really one story… what story is God actually telling?

Let’s open the Scriptures together and discover the breathtaking storyline that connects Genesis to Revelation.

____________

STEP 2 – What Story Is God Actually Telling?

Can I show you something that completely changed the way I read my Bible?

For years…

I thought the Bible was a collection of incredible stories.

Adam and Eve.

Noah.

Abraham.

Moses.

David.

Esther.

Daniel.

The disciples.

Paul.

And they are incredible stories.

But one day I realized something.

They’re not sixty-six separate stories.

They’re one story…

told one chapter at a time.

So what’s the story?

If I had to summarize the entire Bible…

from Genesis to Revelation…

I would do it in five movements.

Creation.

Fall.

Promise.

Redemption.

Restoration.

That’s God’s story.

Let’s see it together.

The Bible opens exactly where every story should begin.

With God.

Genesis 1:1 – “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”

Notice who the first character is.

Not Adam.

Not Eve.

God.

Before there was creation…

there was the Creator.

Everything begins with Him.

Then something heartbreaking happens.

Sin enters the world.

The relationship between God and humanity is broken.

Death enters creation.

But here’s what I love about our God.

Before Genesis chapter 3 is even finished…

God gives a promise.

A promise that one day…

Someone would come.

Listen carefully.

Genesis 3:15 – “And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; it shall bruise your head, and you shalt bruise His heel.”

Many Bible scholars call this the first Gospel because, even in humanity’s darkest moment, God points forward to the coming Redeemer.

Isn’t that just like Him?

The problem appears…

and before we can lose hope…

God gives a promise.

From that moment forward…

the entire Old Testament begins asking one question.

Who is the promised One?

Every covenant…

every sacrifice…

every judge…

every king…

every prophet…

keeps moving that promise forward.

Then, after centuries of waiting…

the answer arrives.

His name is Jesus.

Listen to John’s words.

John 1:14 – “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”

This is the turning point of the entire Bible.

The promised Redeemer steps into His own story.

Everything before Him has been preparing the way.

Everything after Him explains what He accomplished.

His life.

His death.

His resurrection.

His victory over sin.

This is the heart of redemption.

But God isn’t finished.

The Bible doesn’t end at the Cross.

It ends with restoration.

Listen to this beautiful promise.

Revelation 21:3 – “And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God.”

Can you see it?

The Bible begins with God walking with humanity in a garden.

It ends with God dwelling with His redeemed people forever.

Creation.

Fall.

Promise.

Redemption.

Restoration.

One continuous story.

One faithful God.

One glorious Savior.

And here’s what I hope you’ll remember.

The Bible is not primarily the story of broken people trying to find God.

It’s the story of a holy God pursuing the people He loves.

From Genesis to Revelation…

He never stops moving toward us.

He creates.

He promises.

He rescues.

He redeems.

He restores.

So here’s your second step today.

The next time you open your Bible…

before you focus on the individual characters…

pause and ask yourself:

“Where am I in God’s story of redemption?”

Because once you begin recognizing those five movements…

Creation…

Fall…

Promise…

Redemption…

and Restoration…

the Bible starts making sense in a whole new way.

Not as disconnected events…

but as one breathtaking story…

written by one Author…

revealing one Savior…

and inviting every one of us…

into His eternal redemption story.

____________

Can I share another observation?

I’ve noticed that most people don’t reject the Bible because they’ve studied it too deeply.

They step away because no one ever showed them the story.

When Scripture feels like hundreds of disconnected events…

it’s easy to miss the heartbeat running through every page.

Maybe you’ll recognize yourself.

Maybe YOU’RE THE QUESTIONER.

You aren’t afraid of asking hard questions.

In fact…

you’ve probably wondered,

“How do Noah… David… Isaiah… and Paul all fit together?”

That’s not a lack of faith.

That’s an honest desire to understand.

Friend…

keep asking those questions.

Because God is never threatened by sincere seekers who want to know His Word more deeply.

Sometimes the right question becomes the doorway to seeing the entire story.

Maybe YOU’RE THE RETURNING BELIEVER.

Life happened.

Years passed.

Your Bible quietly stayed on the shelf.

Now you’re finding your way back…

and you’re wondering where to begin.

Can I encourage you?

Don’t begin by trying to master sixty-six books.

Begin by discovering one story.

As the story becomes clear…

the individual books begin finding their place.

And maybe…

YOU’RE THE SKEPTICAL OBSERVER.

You’re careful.

You don’t accept everything you hear.

Honestly…

I respect that.

God never asks us to believe blindly.

He invites us to search the Scriptures.

To compare.

To examine.

To see whether these things are so.

My hope isn’t that you’ll simply believe what I say.

My hope is that you’ll open God’s Word…

and discover His story for yourself.

Friend…

did you notice what all three of these people had in common?

They weren’t really looking for more information.

They were looking for understanding.

And understanding begins the moment we stop seeing isolated stories…

and start seeing one unfolding story of redemption.

From creation…

to the fall…

to the promise…

to redemption…

to restoration…

God has never changed the story.

He’s simply revealed it…

one chapter at a time…

until Jesus stood at the very center of it all.

____________

Now that we’ve discovered the story God has been telling from the very beginning…

one question becomes impossible to ignore.

Who is the center of that story?

Let’s keep walking through Scripture together and discover why every page ultimately points to Jesus Christ.

____________

STEP 3 – Why Is Jesus the Center of Every Book?

Can I ask you one more question?

When you open your Bible…

who are you looking for?

Maybe that sounds like a strange question.

Because most of us were taught to look for Bible heroes.

Noah.

Abraham.

Moses.

David.

Esther.

Daniel.

Paul.

And yes…

God used every one of them in remarkable ways.

But what if they were never meant to be the heroes of the story?

What if every one of them was pointing us to Someone greater?

Can I show you something beautiful?

After Jesus rose from the dead…

He met two disciples walking on the road to Emmaus.

They were heartbroken.

Confused.

Everything they thought they understood about the Messiah had fallen apart.

So what did Jesus do?

He didn’t begin by explaining current events.

He didn’t give them a prophecy chart.

He opened the Scriptures.

Listen carefully.

Luke 24:27 – “And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, He expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning Himself.”

I love that verse.

Jesus could have started anywhere.

Instead…

He started at the beginning.

He walked through Moses.

The Prophets.

The Scriptures.

And everywhere He went…

He showed them…

Himself.

A few moments later…

He says something even more remarkable.

Luke 24:44 – “And He said unto them, These are the words which I spoke unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning Me.”

Did you notice that?

The Law.

The Prophets.

The Psalms.

Those were the major divisions of the Hebrew Scriptures.

Jesus wasn’t pointing to one prophecy.

He was saying…

“The whole story has always been about Me.”

Then listen to His words in John’s Gospel.

John 5:39 – “Search the scriptures; for in them you think you have eternal life: and they are they which testify of Me.”

Friend…

that verse changed the way I read my Bible.

Because suddenly…

I stopped asking,

“Who’s the hero of this chapter?”

And I started asking,

“Jesus… what are You showing me about Yourself here?”

Everything began changing.

Noah wasn’t simply building an ark.

He was pointing forward to God’s rescue.

Abraham wasn’t simply becoming the father of a nation.

He was pointing forward to the Father who would one day offer His own beloved Son.

The Passover lamb wasn’t simply about Egypt.

It pointed to the Lamb of God.

David wasn’t simply Israel’s greatest king.

He pointed to the greater King who would reign forever.

The prophets weren’t merely predicting the future.

They were preparing the world for the Messiah.

Every sacrifice…

every covenant…

every promise…

every rescue…

every page…

moves the story closer to Jesus.

And here’s something I treasure.

The Old Testament isn’t finished and forgotten.

It’s where the Father begins revealing His redemption plan.

The New Testament doesn’t replace that story.

It reveals the fulfillment of everything the Father promised through His Son, and the Holy Spirit opens our hearts to understand and live it.

One God.

One unfolding story.

One Savior.

From Genesis…

to Revelation.

So here’s your third step today.

The next time you open your Bible…

don’t begin by asking,

“What can I learn from this person?”

Begin with a different prayer.

“Jesus… show me Yourself.”

Because when you begin reading Scripture that way…

something wonderful happens.

The Bible becomes more than a collection of ancient stories.

It becomes a living invitation…

to know Christ more deeply.

Not just in Matthew…

or John…

or Revelation…

but in Genesis…

Isaiah…

the Psalms…

and every page in between.

Because the greatest Hero of the Bible…

has never changed.

His name is Jesus Christ.

And once you begin seeing Him…

you’ll begin discovering that the Bible has never been sixty-six separate books.

It has always been…

one breathtaking story…

revealing one glorious Savior…

who has been pursuing His people from the very beginning.

____________

Can I share something that’s become more and more obvious to me?

The believers who seem to know Jesus most intimately…

aren’t necessarily the ones who know the most Bible facts.

They’re the ones who’ve learned to look for Him…

on every page.

Because once Jesus becomes the center of your Bible…

He begins becoming the center of your life.

Maybe you’ll recognize yourself.

Maybe YOU’RE THE HUNGRY DISCIPLE.

You’ve reached the place where information isn’t enough anymore.

You don’t simply want another Bible study.

You want to know Jesus.

Friend…

that’s a beautiful hunger.

Keep bringing that desire to God’s Word.

Because Scripture wasn’t given merely to fill our minds.

It was given to reveal the heart of Christ.

The more you look for Him…

the more you’ll discover He has been there all along.

Maybe YOU’RE THE LUKEWARM CHRISTIAN WAKING UP.

You’ve believed in Jesus for years…

but somewhere along the way…

your relationship became routine.

Reading the Bible started feeling like another task to complete.

Can I encourage you?

Don’t begin tomorrow by asking,

“How many chapters should I read?”

Begin by asking,

“Jesus… show me Yourself today.”

Sometimes one encounter with Christ changes more than finishing an entire reading plan.

And maybe…

YOU’RE THE ISOLATED REMNANT BELIEVER.

Sometimes you wonder if anyone else still loves God’s Word the way you do.

If anyone else still wants to know Jesus…

more than chasing opinions…

arguments…

or the latest trend.

Can I remind you of something?

You’re not alone.

Across the world…

God is quietly drawing people back to His Word…

not merely to study the Bible…

but to know His Son more deeply.

Friend…

did you notice what connects all three of these people?

None of them were looking for more religious information.

They were looking for a deeper relationship.

And that’s exactly what Jesus invites us into.

When we stop reading Scripture merely to collect knowledge…

and begin reading it to know Christ…

the Bible comes alive.

Every promise…

every prophecy…

every rescue…

every page…

becomes another invitation to walk with the One who has loved us from the very beginning.

____________

If Jesus truly is the center of every book…

then the next question becomes wonderfully practical.

How do all sixty-six books actually fit together?

Let’s step back, look at the whole picture, and watch God’s story unfold from Genesis to Revelation.

____________

STORY OF AWAKENING

Can I tell YOU about someone?

In the bustling heart of the city, where the clamor of daily existence often drowns out the whispers of the soul, lived a man named Nico. Nico, a 45-year-old community center director, was known for his stoic demeanor and his seemingly unflappable nature. He wore his responsibility like a badge, but beneath his steady gaze was a turmoil that kept him awake at night. The city was his dragon, a beast that never slept, with problems as numerous as its stars.

Nico’s suit and tie were less about fashion and more a suit of armor, defending him against a world that demanded constant strength. Yet in the solitude of his apartment, the armor fell away, revealing the weight of loneliness and the longing for a life of more profound meaning and connection.

One night, a silent plea escaped his lips, a whisper for something real amidst the facade. In that moment, Nico felt a shift, like the soft but certain turning of a page. The next day, on his way to work, his usual route was blocked, and he took a detour through a local park. There, he stumbled upon a community garden, a splash of green serenity in the gray landscape. The contrast was jarring, the silence almost tangible. It was as if the garden was waiting for him.

Drawn to the tranquility, Nico began to volunteer at the garden. His hands, once accustomed to the sterility of paperwork, now delved into the richness of soil. Each seed he planted, each plant he nurtured, began a mirror a transformation within him. The garden became his quiet place of refection, a space where he could cultivate the fruits of a life enriched not by accolades, but by attributes of the Spirit.

The authenticity of growth, the patience required for cultivation, the joy in blooming flowers, and the peace amidst the greenery began to resonate with Nico. The garden was not just a place; it was a living metaphor for a spiritual journey he hadn’t realized he’d embarked upon.

Galatians 5:22–23 became a mantra for him, as he saw love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control not just as virtues to aspire to, but as the natural outcome of a life rooted in something beyond himself. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control . . .”

Months turned into seasons, and the community center began to reflect the change in Nico. Programs became more compassionate, interactions more genuine. People noticed. They would often say, “There’s something different about him,” without quite being able to pinpoint what had changed.

Nico would just smile, a knowing twinkle in his eye, because he had discovered the true dragon was not the city or its problems, but the disconnection within his own heart. And the sword that slew the dragon was not his position or his intellect, but the fruits of a life transformed by the tender work of the Spirit. His garden thrived, as did his soul, and thus, the city felt a little less daunting, the night a little less dark. And the garden? It became known as “The Oasis,” a testament to one man’s journey to a Fruitful Life.

____________

Maybe today’s Story of Awakening wasn’t actually for YOU.

Maybe…

it was for someone God quietly placed on YOUR heart.

The friend…

who keeps saying,

“I try reading the Bible…

but I just don’t understand it.”

The believer…

who loves Jesus…

but secretly feels discouraged…

because every time they open Scripture…

it feels confusing…

or overwhelming.

The family member…

who believes the Bible is important…

but has never seen…

how Genesis…

Exodus…

the Psalms…

the Prophets…

the Gospels…

and Revelation…

all tell one magnificent story.

The new Christian…

who desperately wants to know Jesus…

but doesn’t know where to begin.

Did someone come to mind?

Because if they did…

maybe today’s conversation wasn’t only meant to encourage YOU.

Maybe Jesus wants to encourage them…

through YOU.

If someone came to mind while hearing today’s Story of Awakening…

send them this video.

Because you never know how God might use…

one conversation…

one invitation…

one open Bible…

to change the direction of someone’s life.

That’s how the Gospel has always spread.

One person…

telling another person…

about Jesus.

And perhaps the greatest discovery waiting for someone you love…

isn’t simply understanding the Bible better.

It’s discovering…

that from the very first page…

to the very last…

God has been telling one story.

A story of grace.

A story of redemption.

A story that reaches its fulfillment…

in Jesus Christ.

Because before we ever began searching for Him…

He was already writing a story…

that would lead us to Himself.

So perhaps your decision to share this today…

will become part of someone else’s…

Story of Awakening.

____________

STEP 4 – How Do All Sixty-Six Books Fit Together?

Can I show you something…

that completely changed the way I read my Bible?

For years…

I opened God’s Word one book at a time.

Genesis.

Then Exodus.

Maybe a Psalm.

Then one of Paul’s letters.

I loved every page.

But if I’m honest…

I didn’t always see how they connected.

Then one day…

I stopped looking at individual books…

and I stepped back.

That’s when I realized something.

The Bible was never meant to be read as sixty-six unrelated books.

It was written as one breathtaking story.

And here’s the beautiful part.

The Bible tells us exactly what that story is.

Paul writes,

1 Corinthians 3:11 – “For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”

Jesus Himself said,

John 5:39 – “Search the scriptures; for in them you think you have eternal life: and they are they which testify of Me.”

Friend…

if that’s true…

then every book…

must somehow move the story toward Christ.

So…

instead of talking about it…

PROPHECY

Revelation

Jesus reigns forever, and He makes all things new.

____________

Did you notice something?

The Bible never changed stories.

From Genesis…

to Revelation…

God has always been telling…

the same story.

One Author.

One redemption plan.

One Savior.

Jesus Christ.

And I think that’s one of the most beautiful discoveries you’ll ever make.

Because tomorrow morning…

when you open your Bible…

you’re not opening a random book.

You’re stepping into the greatest story ever written.

So before you read your chapter…

pause for just a moment.

And ask,

“Where does this fit in God’s story… and what does it reveal about Jesus?”

I believe that one simple question…

can transform the way you read Scripture…

for the rest of your life.

Because the Bible isn’t sixty-six separate books.

It’s one beautiful love story…

written by one faithful Author…

revealing one glorious Savior…

from Genesis…

to Revelation.

____________

Have you ever noticed…

how two people can read the very same Bible…

and walk away with completely different experiences?

For one person…

it’s a collection of disconnected stories.

For another…

it’s one breathtaking story with Jesus at the center.

That difference changes everything.

THE HUNGRY DISCIPLE

Maybe that’s YOU.

You’ve been studying faithfully.

Highlighting verses.

Listening to sermons.

Taking notes.

But you’ve quietly wondered…

“Why does it still feel so scattered?”

Friend…

you’re not lacking passion.

You’ve simply never been shown the whole story.

THE EXHAUSTED BELIEVER

Maybe you’ve started reading through the Bible…

three…

four…

even ten different times.

Genesis feels exciting.

Leviticus slows you down.

Numbers loses you.

And somewhere around Chronicles…

the plan quietly disappears.

Not because you stopped loving God…

but because no one ever handed you the map.

Sometimes the missing piece isn’t more discipline.

It’s a better overview.

THE ENCOURAGER

Maybe God has already placed people in your life…

children…

grandchildren…

friends…

neighbors…

who desperately want to understand Scripture.

Imagine being able to explain the entire Bible…

not with complicated theology…

but with one beautiful story…

that begins in Genesis…

finds its center in Jesus…

and ends with His glorious return.

That conversation could change someone’s life forever.

Here’s what I’ve discovered.

When people finally see Scripture as one story…

they stop asking,

“Where should I read?”

and begin asking,

“Where are we in God’s story?”

That’s a completely different way of opening your Bible.

Because suddenly…

every book has a purpose.

Every covenant has a place.

Every promise points somewhere.

Every page whispers the same beautiful name…

Jesus.

And that’s exactly what we’re discovering together.

Not sixty-six disconnected books…

but one magnificent story…

written by one Author…

about one Savior…

for one people…

inviting all of us home.

____________

Now that we’ve discovered how all sixty-six books fit together…

one final question remains.

If the Bible really is one unified story centered on Jesus…

how should that change the way we read it tomorrow morning?

Let’s finish where every great story leads…

with us.

____________

STEP 5 – How Should the Big Story Change the Way I Read Scripture?

Friend…

Can I leave you with one simple change…

that transformed my Bible reading forever?

It wasn’t buying a different Bible.

It wasn’t learning Greek or Hebrew.

It wasn’t reading more chapters every day.

It was learning to ask a different question.

Instead of asking,

“What does this verse mean to me?”

I began asking,

“Where does this fit into God’s story… and what does it reveal about Jesus?”

That one question changed everything.

Because the Bible was never intended to be a collection of disconnected inspirational thoughts.

It is God’s revelation of Himself…

from Genesis…

to Revelation.

Jesus said,

John 5:39 – “Search the scriptures; for in them you think you have eternal life: and they are they which testify of Me.”

Notice what Jesus did not say.

He didn’t tell His listeners to search the Scriptures merely for information.

He said the Scriptures testify of Him.

Every page…

every covenant…

every promise…

every sacrifice…

every king…

every prophet…

is helping tell His story.

After His resurrection, Jesus did something remarkable.

Luke tells us,

Luke 24:27 – “And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, He expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning Himself.”

Think about that.

Jesus could have started anywhere.

Genesis.

Exodus.

Isaiah.

The Psalms.

Wherever He went…

He found Himself.

Why?

Because He is not simply part of the story.

He is the center of the story.

Later that same chapter we read,

Luke 24:45 – “Then opened He their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures.”

Friend…

that’s my prayer for every person watching this series.

Not simply that you’ll finish reading the Bible.

But that God will open your understanding.

Because reading more…

isn’t always the answer.

Reading with the right lens is.

When you begin looking for Christ…

you’ll notice connections you’ve never seen before.

The Passover Lamb.

The Tabernacle.

The bronze serpent.

Boaz the Redeemer.

David the shepherd king.

Isaiah’s suffering servant.

Jonah emerging after three days.

None of those stories stand alone.

They are all preparing your heart…

to recognize Jesus.

Suddenly…

the Bible becomes one conversation instead of sixty-six separate books.

One unfolding redemption instead of disconnected events.

One faithful God…

keeping one eternal promise.

So the next time you open your Bible…

before you read a single verse…

pause for just a moment.

Pray something simple.

“Lord…

show me where we are in Your story.

Help me see Jesus more clearly today.

And help me follow Him more faithfully.”

James gives us this beautiful encouragement,

James 1:22 – “But be you doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”

That’s the goal.

Not simply knowing the story.

Living inside it.

Because God’s story isn’t merely something we study.

It’s something we’re invited into.

Every morning you open His Word…

the Author is inviting you to walk with Him again.

Not just to gain information…

but to deepen a relationship.

That’s why we read.

Not to finish a checklist.

Not to win a Bible trivia contest.

Not even simply to understand history.

We read because this Book is our Father’s love letter…

our Savior’s testimony…

and the Holy Spirit’s daily invitation to become more like Jesus.

And when you begin reading Scripture that way…

the Bible no longer feels overwhelming.

It feels like coming home.

Because every page…

every promise…

every prophecy…

and every person…

is leading you to the same place.

Jesus Christ.

And once you see Him there…

you’ll never read your Bible the same way again.

____________

Have you ever noticed…

the people who seem to know the Bible best…

aren’t always the people who can quote the most verses?

Often…

they’re the ones who simply know Jesus the best.

Somewhere along the way…

Scripture stopped becoming information…

and became relationship.

THE LUKEWARM CHRISTIAN WAKING UP

Maybe that’s YOU.

You never stopped believing.

Life simply became busy.

The Bible slowly moved…

from the center of your day…

to the edge of your nightstand.

No one plans for that to happen.

It happens one busy day at a time.

But today…

perhaps Jesus isn’t inviting you to “try harder.”

Perhaps He’s simply saying,

“Come walk with Me again.”

Because every time you open His Word…

you’re not opening another assignment.

You’re accepting another invitation.

THE SILENT WATCHER

Maybe you’ve never written a comment.

Never introduced yourself.

Never told anyone you’ve been watching.

But every week…

you quietly return.

Learning.

Listening.

Growing.

Friend…

God sees quiet growth.

He sees every page you’ve read.

Every prayer you’ve whispered.

Every decision to keep showing up.

Faithfulness is often wonderfully ordinary.

THE QUESTIONER

Maybe you’ve always had questions.

Good.

Questions aren’t the enemy of faith.

They are often the doorway to deeper faith.

The goal isn’t pretending you understand everything.

The goal is learning to trust the One who does.

The more clearly you see the big story…

the more individual passages begin making sense.

Not because every mystery disappears…

but because you know the Author.

And perhaps…

that’s the greatest transformation of all.

You no longer read Scripture looking for random verses to help you survive the day.

You begin reading to spend time with Someone you love.

The Bible becomes less about checking off chapters…

and more about walking with Christ.

Page by page.

Morning by morning.

Year after year.

Because the greatest evidence that you’re understanding God’s story…

isn’t that you know more facts.

It’s that you’re becoming more like Jesus.

And that’s the journey we’re taking together.

Not simply reading the Bible…

but allowing the Author…

to keep writing His story…

in us.

____________

Before we finish…

I’d love to leave you with one practical tool that I return to again and again.

It’s a simple visual roadmap that helps me remember the entire story of Scripture…

from Genesis to Revelation…

in just a few moments.

Let’s look at Today’s Toolkit together.

____________

TODAY’S TOOLKIT – The Bible Story in One Page

Before we finish…

I want to leave YOU with Today’s Toolkit.

Whenever the Bible starts feeling overwhelming…

or you lose sight of where you are in the story…

come back to this simple roadmap.

Think of it as the Bible’s table of contents…

not by books…

but by God’s unfolding plan of redemption.

It all begins with Creation.

God creates a perfect world…

and humanity enjoys perfect fellowship with Him.

Then comes The Fall.

Sin enters the world.

Everything is broken.

But in that very moment…

God makes His first promise of a coming Redeemer.

From there, the story moves to The Promise.

God calls Abraham.

Builds a covenant people.

And promises that through his family…

all nations will one day be blessed.

Next comes The Rescue.

Through Moses, God delivers Israel from Egypt.

Not only to free them from slavery…

but to reveal the kind of God He is—

a God who rescues before He restores.

Then comes The Kingdom.

Kings rise.

Prophets speak.

The Temple is built.

Yet every victory…

and every failure…

points forward to the coming King.

Then comes The Messiah.

Jesus Christ enters history.

Everything before Him points toward Him.

Everything after Him points back to Him.

After His resurrection comes The Church.

The Gospel begins reaching every nation.

Ordinary believers become ambassadors of an extraordinary King.

And finally…

the story ends with Restoration.

Jesus returns.

Sin is defeated forever.

Heaven and earth are made new.

And God’s people dwell with Him for all eternity.

Friend…

that’s the Bible.

Eight great movements.

One faithful Author.

One unfolding story.

One glorious Savior.

So the next time you open your Bible…

before reading a single verse…

simply ask yourself,

“Where am I in God’s story?”

That one question will begin connecting books…

chapters…

people…

promises…

and prophecies…

into one beautiful narrative centered on Jesus Christ.

Before we move on…

I’d like to leave you with one thought.

Remember this…

The Bible isn’t sixty-six disconnected books. It’s one story of redemption—from Creation…
to Christ… to the Cross… to the Church… to Christ’s glorious return. One Author. One Story. One Savior. Jesus Christ.

____________

Before we wrap…

If today’s message strengthened YOUR confidence in Christ…

comment “READY.”

I read those comments every week,

and I love seeing believers encourage one another.

And before YOU leave…

tell me one step YOU’RE going to take this week.

Maybe it’s opening your Bible tomorrow morning.

Maybe it’s talking with Jesus for the first time in a long time.

Maybe it’s sharing the Gospel with someone.

Or maybe it’s simply choosing obedience in one area of YOUR life.

Because here at Guardians of Biblical Truth…

we believe Scripture becomes transformation one step at a time.

____________

WRAP UP – From Bible Fragments to One Story

Friend…

today wasn’t really about learning a better way to organize the Bible.

It was about discovering the heart of the Author.

From Genesis…

to Revelation…

we’ve seen that Scripture isn’t sixty-six disconnected books competing for our attention.

It’s one breathtaking story…

carefully written…

faithfully preserved…

and beautifully centered on Jesus Christ.

And once you begin seeing that story…

something changes.

You stop opening your Bible wondering,

“Where should I read today?”

Instead…

you begin asking,

“Lord, what are You showing me about Yourself today?”

That’s a very different way to read Scripture.

Not as a student trying to finish an assignment…

but as a disciple walking with the Author.

My prayer is that this becomes more than another Bible study.

I pray it becomes the beginning of a lifelong friendship with Jesus through His Word.

Because the more clearly you see Him…

the more clearly you’ll understand every page that follows.

And that’s exactly the journey we’re beginning together.

One chapter.

One book.

One story.

One Savior.

____________

WHERE WE GO NEXT

Now let me show YOU where we’re headed next.

This wheel is our journey…

through the New Narrated Study Bible…

one book at a time…

one storyline at a time…

one deeper understanding of Jesus at a time.

Today…

we completed our very first spoke:

66 Books of the Bible in 66 Minutes: What’s the Big Story of the Bible?

Together we discovered…

that the Bible isn’t sixty-six disconnected books…

it’s one unfolding story.

One faithful Author.

One glorious Savior.

Jesus Christ.

That changes everything.

Because once you know the big picture…

every chapter…

every promise…

every prophecy…

finally has a place to belong.

Next time…

we’ll build on that foundation by asking another important question:

Why Does Reading the Bible Out of Order Make It Feel So Confusing?

Together…

we’ll discover why the Bible wasn’t written as random stories…

but as one connected narrative.

I’ll show YOU how reading Scripture chronologically…

reveals relationships…

patterns…

and beautiful connections…

that many Christians have simply never been shown.

Little by little…

this wheel is helping us see the Bible…

the way God gave it.

One book.

One timeline.

One unfolding story.

Because every spoke builds on the one before it.

One question.

One truth.

One month.

One faithful step toward knowing Jesus more deeply.

Because understanding the Bible…

was never meant to end with more information.

It was always meant…

to deepen our relationship…

with the Author.

And together…

that’s exactly where we’re headed next.

____________

SCRIPTURE · STORY · STEP

SCRIPTURE • STORY • STEP.

Scripture tells us what God says.

Story helps God’s truth become personal.

Step is where faith becomes the way YOU actually live.

Because every checkpoint moves YOU from awareness to obedience, from belief to readiness, from saying “Amen” to living “Here I am, Lord.”

And that’s the journey we’re taking together.

One Scripture.

and you want to come home…

pray this with me.

Father, in Jesus’ name,

Thank You for Your Word. Help us not just hear it – but obey it. Forgive us. Cleanse us. We repent, and we turn from sin back to You. Give us hunger for Scripture. Open our understanding, and help us see Your Word as one clear story – one timeline – from Genesis to Revelation. Teach us to love truth and reject confusion. Renew our minds, fill us with Your Spirit, and make us ready – without fear and without compromise. We give You our yes.

Amen.
