Consider 2 Corinthians 5:14–15, where Paul explains that Christ’s love compels us to no longer live for ourselves but for Him who died for us. 14 “For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. 15 And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.” This passage encapsulates the heart of why we share our faith: out of love for Christ and others.

When to Share Our Faith

Sharing your faith isn’t a scheduled activity; it’s a way of life. In Matthew 28:19–20, Jesus commands us to make disciples as we go about our daily lives. 19 “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. As Paul notes in 1 Corinthians 2:1–5, sharing our faith isn’t about eloquence or human wisdom, but about the power of the Holy Spirit. 1 “And so it was with me, brothers and sisters. When I came to you, I did not come with eloquence or human wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. 2 For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. 3 I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling. 4 My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, 5 so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.” Our reliance on the Holy Spirit makes our witness genuine and powerful.
