Serious Students of the Bible | Five Essentials . . .

I have stored up your Word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.” Psalm 119:11 (ESV)

Memorizing scripture is a powerful tool in our spiritual arsenal. It’s about writing God’s Word on our hearts. When we memorize scripture, we carry with us a constant source of guidance, comfort, and strength. Serious students of the Bible and new Christians alike, start with key verses, then gradually build up to larger passages. This practice equips us to recall God’s Word in times of need.

5. Meditate on the Bible

“But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he mediates day and night.” Psalm 1:2 (ESV)

Meditation is deeper than study; it’s about pondering, reflecting, and applying God’s Word in a very personal way. As serious students of the Bible, as we meditate, we internalize the scriptures, allowing them to shape our thoughts, attitudes, and actions. This process transforms us, aligning us more closely with God’s will.
