Hello everyone, and welcome back to The Spoken Word. As always, the Guardians of Biblical Truth’s commitment to spreading the Gospel has remained steadfast. Today, I want to delve deep into the Bible and share with you what I believe are the three most crucial biblical laws for reaching the unsaved.
1. The Law of Divine Love and Compassion
The first law of evangelism is grounded in divine love and compassion. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is not exclusive to the religious; it is for everyone, especially the lost. Jesus Himself demonstrated this through His life. In Luke 15:1–2, we see tax collectors and notorious sinners coming to Jesus, much to the chagrin of the Pharisees. This underscores that the Gospel is for all, irrespective of their past or present.
“Now the tax collectors and sinners were all gathering around to hear Jesus. But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.” Luke 15:1–2 (NIV)
The Parable of the Lost Sheep
Luke 15:4 asks, “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it?” This parable beautifully illustrates God’s priority for the lost. The church often focuses on the saved, but God’s heart yearns for the one sheep that is lost.
2. The Law of Prayer and Intercession
The second law revolves around the power of prayer and intercession. It is crucial to recognize that it is the will of God for your family and friends to be saved. 2 Peter 3:9 affirms this, stating, “The Lord is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” Prayer aligns our desires with God’s will, invoking divine intervention in the lives of the unsaved.
The Role of Intercessory Prayer
James 5:16 teaches us, “The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” When we intercede, reaching the unsaved, we’re engaging in spiritual warfare, tearing down strongholds that keep them from Christ. Intercessory prayer is a powerful tool in evangelism.
3. The Law of Witness and Testimony
The third law is about witness and testimony. Sharing the Gospel isn’t about winning arguments or debates; it’s about sharing the love and grace of Christ. John 6:63 says, “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing.” Our ability to lead people to Christ doesn’t rely on our eloquence but on the Holy Spirit’s power working through us.
Building Relationships for the Gospel
In evangelism, building relationships is key when reaching the unsaved. Sowing seeds of kindness and love often prepares the ground for sharing the Gospel. Psalm 126:6 tells us, “He who continually goes forth weeping, bearing seed for sowing, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.” This scripture highlights the importance of sowing in tears to reap in joy.
Evangelism in Action
Personal Testimonies of Evangelism
I’ve witnessed the power of these laws in my own practice. For instance, I remember praying for the owner of a restaurant, asking God for an opportunity to share the Gospel. God not only opened that door but also prepared the owner’s heart to receive the message. This experience echoes the biblical truth in Proverbs 11:30, “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, And he who wins souls is wise.”
The Role of the Evangelist
As an evangelist, I’ve seen the transformative power of these laws in various crusades and individual encounters. Each soul won for Christ is a testament to the effectiveness of divine love, prayer, and witness. Evangelists carry a special anointing that, when coupled with these laws, results in fruitful ministry.
Conclusion: Reaching the Unsaved
In conclusion, the three laws of evangelism—Divine Love and Compassion, Prayer and Intercession, and Witness and Testimony—are fundamental in reaching the unsaved. They align our efforts with God’s heart and purpose. Remember, evangelism is more than just sharing the Gospel; it’s embodying it in every aspect of our lives. As we apply these laws, let’s expect God to move mightily in saving souls and transforming lives.
In His Service and with a heart full of compassion,
Guardians of Biblical Truth
